This program involves the use of the horse as a model in assisting with healing and personal growth. It focuses primarily on groundwork in an arena or round pen setting. This program is open to anyone needing one-on-one time with horses, as a result of a physical injury, anxiety, PTSD or other mental or physical stressors.
This program is centered around experiential therapy, involving instruction in riding and horsemanship skills to prepare for and participate in backcountry riding or trail riding activities. To qualify for this program participants must first demonstrate riding proficiency.
Equine-assisted psychotherapy incorporates horses into the therapeutic process. People engage in activities such as grooming, feeding, and leading a horse while being supervised by a mental health professional. Our EAP programs are paid programs (insurance accepted) and are held in collaboration with Beyond the Pines. Lindsay Seals, a is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over fifteen years of experience in the mental health field as a victim advocate, social worker, and therapist. This program covers the basics of fundamental horsemanship and horse care. Leading, grooming, hoof care, stall cleaning, feeding, saddling, and equine first aid. It is geared toward preparing participants to care for their horses, gain confidence and develop skills, as well as assist in barns, ranches, and stable facilities.
